We wanted the home owners to enjoy outdoor living – cooking and eating outdoors – to experience a very non-Hong Kong kind of thing, something they had been longing for since living in the city for years. We gutted everything apart from the four walls. The original concrete staircase was changed to metal stairs to allow for air movement through the treads. A bright yellow Woodstock sculpture added a bold statement.
